Questions & Answers

Q: What services does Scoopin Poop offer?

A: We offer Weekly and biweekly dog waste removal

service for residential and HOA properties.

Q: Do I need to be home during service?

A: No — as long as the yard is accessible (gate unlocked or code provided), we can complete your cleanup without you being there.

Q: How will I know when you’ve arrived or finished?

A: We’ll send you a text within an hour of arriving for service. Once we’re finished, we’ll text a photo confirming your gate is closed and your yard is clean.

Q: Is there an extra charge for the first clean?

A: No! However, if your yard hasn’t been cleaned in a while, we may add an initial cleanup fee to account for extra buildup. We’ll confirm pricing before starting. This is only on rare occasions where a yard has been extremely neglected and may reject service all together. Once again, this is very unlikely with our customers.

Q: What about bad weather or holidays?

A: We aim to stay on schedule through most weather. If conditions become unsafe (lightning, flooding, heavy snow or ice, etc.) we may skip that week, but we’ll make up the difference the very next service. During the makeup visit, we’ll double check areas that were missed and clean as thoroughly as possible. You will be notified if a change is needed.

Q: How do I pay for service?

A: Payments are handled automatically through our secure billing system. You’ll be billed monthly and can update or cancel your plan anytime.

Q: Is there a contract or commitment?

A: Nope! We’re all about simplicity — no contracts, no long-term obligations. Cancel anytime.

Q: Do you service shared or community spaces?

A: Yes! We work with HOA and community spaces, and can help your HOA get special pricing for neighborhood group cleanups.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Absolutely. We carry full liability insurance and protection for your property and our team.

Q: What if I’m unhappy with the service?

A: We stand by our work. If there’s an issue, contact us and we’ll return to correct it at no charge.

Q: How do you prevent spreading bacteria or other diseases between yards?

A: Great question, we take sanitation seriously to keep every yard (and every pup) safe! after each visit, we will disinfect all scooping tools and our shoes using Virkon S, a veterinary-grade cleaner proven to kill bacteria and viruses like parvo. It’s powerful, fast acting, and completely safe for pets and people. This ensures we never track anything harmful from one yard to another.

Q: Do I really Get $50 per referral?

A: Yes. When you refer a friend they can fill out our referral form when they sign up. Once they sign up and pay for the first month you will receive $25 ($15 if they sign up for biweekly). Once they have paid for the third month you with get the other $25 for weekly service or $15 for biweekly service. Spread the word and be rewarded. You can also choose to donate your reward if you wish.

Q: What if I have more than 4 dogs?

A: No problem! but we’re happy to accommodate larger packs. Each additional dog is just $3 per week. If you’ve got 5 or more pups , we’ll make sure your yard still gets the same reliable service. Just let us know how many you have when signing up.

Q: What if my yard is larger than 1/4 acre?

A: Our standard pricing covers up to 1/4 acre (about the size of most neighborhood backyards). Larger properties just take more time, so they’ll need a custom quote. If we arrive and the yard is significantly larger or has extras not mentioned during sign up, we may need to adjust pricing or reschedule service until a new rate is approved.

Q: What if my dogs are in the yard during service?

A: We love dogs, its part of why we do what we do! For everyone’s safety, we ask that dogs be kept indoors or securely seperated during the service unless we’ve met them first and confirmed they’re friendly with visitors.

If your dogs are comfortable with people and you’d like them to stay outside, just let us know! We’re happy to do a quick meet and greet on your first visit so they can get used to us. If a dog ever seems uncomfortable or protective, we’ll skip that area and reach out before your next scheduled cleanup.

Please note: While we take great care around pets, Scoopin Poop LLC cannot be held responsible for dogs that escape, cause injury, or act unpredictably during service. We always take a photo of your gate securely closed after each visit to ensure everything is safe before we leave.

Q: What areas do you service?

A: We currently serve Roanoke, Salem, and Vinton Virginia, with more areas coming soon! If you’re just outside of our normal route, let us know, We’ll gladly look into expanding service if there’s enough interest in your area.

Q: Why is the monthly price $107 if it cost $25/week?

A: There are about 4.33 weeks in a month, not just 4. We bill monthly, which comes out to roughly $107.50, but we round down to $107 to keep things simple and fair.

Q: Do you haul the dog waste away?

A: No, most of our customers prefer we place the bagged waste directly in their outdoor trash bin. This keeps things simple and avoids extra cost.

If you don’t have a bin available or would rather, we take it with us, we can haul away for a small additional fee to cover disposal costs. Either way, your yard will be completely clean and ready to enjoy!

Q: What if the gates locked or the yard can’t be accessed?

No problem! You’ll be assigned a service day based on your location and notified within an hour of our arrival. If we can’t reach you, and can’t access the yard, the visit will be skipped, but we’ll double up next time if needed. We just ask that gates be unlocked on your service day, or you provide a code.

Q: What about snow?

A: If conditions are safe to work, we’ll remove whatever waste in on top of the snow. Once the snow melts, we’ll make sure to clean up anything that has been hidden underneath. We’ll always do what we can to stay on mission without risking the safety of our team. You’ll always receive a text update if winter weather affects your service day. However, we all know we don’t get much real snow here in Roanoke!

Q: Is there a contract or commitment?

A: Nope! We’re all about simplicity — no contracts, no long-term obligations. Cancel anytime.

Q: Do you service shared or community spaces?

A: Absolutely! We’re happy to help keep shared spaces clean too. Because these areas can very in size and frequency needs, we provide custom quotes for HOA’s, apartment complexes, and other community areas. Just contact us for a free estimate – we’ll even us use mapping tool to measure and give you an accurate price up front.

Q: Why did you  start Scoopin Poop LLC?

A: After serving in the Army and seeing firsthand the struggles many veterans face after coming home, I knew I wanted to build something that would make a real difference. I also wanted to do things differently than most for-profit businesses – instead of focusing on how much money I could keep, I wanted to focus on how much I could give.

Scoopin Poop LLC was built to be a for-profit business that exists to support non-profits – because money to fund change has to come from somewhere. By offering a simple, reliable service, I can provide steady support to veteran charities while also helping families and pet parents keep their yards clean and safe. Every customer  becomes part of that mission – every scoop supports a cause!  Together, we’re cleaning yards and changing live.

Q: Do your profits really support veterans?

A: Absolutely. A portion of all profits from Scoopin Poop LLC goes directly to veteran charities and service organizations that help those who’ve served our country. This isnt just a promise – it’s built into how we operate.

As the business grows, so does our impact. For example, with around 100 active customers, we could potentially donate around $12,000 a year to veteran-focused programs – funding everything from service dog training to emergency assistance.

With 200 or 300 customers, that impact could easily grow to $25,000-$35,000+ a year, creating steady, meaningful support for veterans in need. My goal is to continue to grow well beyond this point – because the more yards we clean, the more veterans we can help.

Every cleanup contributes to that mission – every scoop supports a cause. Together we can make this happen!
